4. Triple H Doesn't Get The Response He's Looking For (WWE SummerSlam 2012)
Ten years before 'The Game' would officially bring his in-ring days to an end, heartbroken fans wondered whether they'd actually seen the last of the legendary Triple H after he fell to 'The Beast Incarnate' at SummerSlam 2012.
Or at least, that's what 'The King of Kings' was hoping for.
Instead, despite definitely being many a fan and wrestler's favourite performer - just ask Cody Rhodes (via TalkSPORT) - the folks inside of the Staples Center that night couldn't care less about Trips' rather embarrassing attempts to conjure up some sympathy in the wake of a rather forgettable fight with Brock Lesnar.
But did this 'Cerebral Assassin' give up on trying to desperately provoke even just a few folks into standing up and saluting the valiant hero? Hilariously, no.
Trips' reward for blatantly trying to manipulate the audience into giving him an audible pat on the back were defiant chants of "You Tapped Out!" And even when fans did give him the forced cheers he was looking for, it felt like folks had simply seen right through the BS and were just trying to bring the embarrassing act to an end.
This eventual head of WWE creative unleashed a ton of great performances at 'The Biggest Party of the Summer' over the years. But this rather unremarkable PPV conclusion contained one that certainly didn't produce the intended results.
