10 Embarrassing Times Wrestlers Tried To Be Badass

4. Randy Orton And His Night Vision Goggles

They thought this would look so cool.

WWE thought Randy Orton would look like Solid Snake, or something, putting on night vision goggles and taking out the legends in stealth mode. The way he lowered the glasses and slapped that light switch, lol. They thought they'd filmed themselves a real movie scene.

There were a few problems here. One, Orton dressing like a janitor was as pointless as it was conspicuous, but on the other hand, if he looked suspicious, everybody on RAW is scripted to be such a dumbass that it made sense that they didn't notice. They tried to frame Orton as if he were in a heist movie, but through the lens of cheaply-produced pro wrestling, he just looked comical.

Also, the night vision goggles looked cheap and not at all like night vision goggles, and they were not night vision goggles. They were welding goggles.

Orton, taking revenge on Big Show, Ric Flair, Christian and Shawn Michaels, turned off the lights in the Legends Lounge and blasted them all with a steel chair. It was suspiciously quick, by Orton standards. He usually takes ten minutes just to apply a chinlock.

After committing the filmed act with his face revealed in order to make the bit where he lowered the glasses look "cool," Orton hurriedly left the scene and put his hood up so as to not arouse suspicion.

Because this company has brain worms.
