10 Emotional UFC Moments That Made The Fans Cry

1. Josh Samman's Catharsis

Former UFC Middleweight Josh Samman passed away in October 2016, having endured a torrid, torturous last three years on Earth following the death of his girlfriend, Hailey Bevis, in 2013.

She was killed a single-car accident while driving to Tallahassee, Florida. He was understandably distraught, but eventually decided he'd fight through his misery by returning to the Octagon. This saw him pencilled in for a fight with Caio Magalhães in his Orlando, Florida hometown in April 2014, but he tore his hamstring a few weeks beforehand, derailing the comeback.

After healing, Samman jumped at the chance to fight on the UFC 181 card on 6 December. Why? Because it would've been Hailey's birthday.

This meant the fight was always going to be an emotional affair, and Josh didn't fare well in the first, with opponent Eddie Gordon controlling long periods. Then, Samman landed a flush head kick in the second. Gordon went out immediately, and Samman let the moment wash over him, screaming "I love you, Hailey!" into the camera, his catharsis seemingly complete.

If that doesn't at least tug at your heartstrings, you may want to check for a pulse.
