10 Epic Moments From WWE In MSG

7. An Emotional Celebration - WrestleMania XX

For years, both Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit had devoted their lives to their art, wrestling in countries across the globe while learning the styles of the Japanese and Mexican competitors. They withstood the frustration that came with the political minefield that existed in World Championship Wrestling and found greener pastures in WWE. Addiction nearly derailed Guerrero's journey completely but his redemption came in February of 2004 when he rode a wave of momentum and popularity into No Way Out and defeated Brock Lesnar to capture the WWE Championship. At WrestleMania XX, back home in Madison Square Garden, Benoit would join Guerrero in championship glory, defeating Triple H and Shawn Michaels in the night's marquee match. The post-match events, though, were most memorable. Guerrero joined his longtime friend in the center of the ring. Together the champions, at the top of their profession, embraced. It was an emotional moment for them, for their families and for their fans. After being referred to as "vanilla midgets" by Kevin Nash and having their ability to star as anything but solid hands in the midcard questioned, they were able to take the opportunity to let it sink in. In the World's Most Famous Arena, where giants such as Andre the Giant and Big John Studd had previously helped draw sell out crowds, it was two men with hearts larger than anyone could measure that left the greatest impression.
