Realistically, it couldn't be anything else in the top spot. The battle between these two promotions was as hated and as intense as anything we've ever seen in wrestling history, with both sides trying to put the other out of business. Not only did the battle rage on through multiple "eras", it directly led to the creation of some of them, including the Attitude Era, which many still feel was the best time the business has ever seen. Think about everything you enjoyed in the Attitude Era. Now think about the fact that none of it may have happened without Vince McMahon seeing his rivals push and promote a more adult-orientated product that people were eating up in record numbers. While the WWF was battling the NWA before Ted Turner came along, it wasn't until Turner purchased Jim Crockett Promotions in 1988 that the rivalry really began. Many of us wouldn't even be wrestling fans today if it wasn't for those two promotions and what they did when they began firing shots at each other. It was a beautiful time to be a fan, especially a fan that was still growing up. One of the biggest disappointments in all of wrestling is WCW's terrible mismanagement throughout much of their run, even when they were the top company. We could have gotten a few more years, at least, out of the battle, with both sides continuing to up their games and force the other side to do the same. We'll never know what the final outcome would have been then, but it's still fun to speculate.
