3. Lance Storm = Boring

At least The Gobbledy Gooker wasn't "boring".

In 2003, then-Raw GM Steve Austin encouraged fans to change the channel whenever Lance Storm was working a wrestling match. Yep, WWE actually did this. They told people to go watch something else because Storm was so incredibly dull. Wow.

This unbelievably rubbish idea made the product look bad and killed any interest in Lance's watertight technical approach to the mat game. Seriously, Austin lampooning Storm's ring work on episodes of Raw (he even literally snored during Lance vs. Garrison Cade on 16 June '03) was never going to work. It remains one of the worst bits of booking ever, and that's saying something.

Who was going to care about Storm after this? He started teaming with Goldust, and even began dancing to entertain people. Suitably humiliated, Lance retired from full-time wrestling less than a year later. No bloody wonder. He must've been so embarrassed after being called the sh*ts by his own employer on live TV.
