10 Examples Of WWE Punishment Booking
5. CM Punk
Like most stories about CM Punk, this one is less rooted in verifiable fact than it is conjecture and hearsay, but - given the other examples on this list - it wouldn't surprise wrestling fans one iota to learn that it were true.
The story basically goes that CM Punk was stripped of his World Heavyweight Championship at Hell in a Cell 2009 after upsetting his opponent, The Undertaker, during a frank exchange of ideas backstage.
The 'Straight Edge Superstar' was said to have taken umbrage at the suggestion that he wasn't dressing like a proper WWE franchise player, a charge he responded to by pointing out that John Cena wasn't exactly walking round in a suit and tie either.
Hopefully, this tale is as apocryphal as it is ridiculous - because it really doesn't shine a flattering light on everyone's favourite 'Deadman'.
