4. Workrate

When it comes to Bret Hart's workrate, where does one even begin?

Do we start with his days as a tag team wrestler, putting on clinics with the likes of The British Bulldogs, Demolition and The Rockers? What about Bret's rise up the Intercontinental ranks and matches against Mr. Perfect, Roddy Piper and Davey Boy Smith? Or The Hitman's days on top with iconic clashes against Owen Hart, Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin?

Bret Hart's workrate earned him the nickname "The Excellence of Execution" by Gorilla Monsoon, a natural ability that knew no boundaries. Bret was arguably the first main eventer that proved a WWF match didn't always need to be slow, plodding and bereft of action until the finish.

Even with slower big men of the time, guys who were notorious for having less-than-stellar matches, Bret made it entertaining. Sycho Sid, Vader, Yokozuna, The Undertaker and Diesel are just a few examples of the supersized opponents that Bret was able to elevate to a different level. Can Hogan or Rock or Austin claim to have done that on a consistent level and for as long as Bret did?

Looking at their respective resumes, I have to say that I don't think so.

For his ability to work safely and in an entertaining fashion with anyone on the roster at any spot on the card, the Excellence of Execution has few peers.
