10 Expectations Vs. Reality For WWE Backlash 2020

5. Asuka Vs. Nia Jax

Expectation:

Asuka Vs. Charlotte Flair, since the entirety of this week's RAW - the go-home RAW - was built around a match that isn't happening at Backlash. When Nia Jax wandered in for the mandatory 'Seriously why does anybody watch this TV programme anymore' screwy finish, it felt genuinely weird. What was she doing here? Oh yes: promoting her upcoming match at the pay-per-view in the laziest manner imaginable. WWE is so clearly building towards an Asuka Vs. Charlotte title programme, and we know that because - the absolute state of this company - they've already wrestled twice in the last fortnight. This has telegraphed the finish of Sunday's RAW Women's Title match...

Reality:

...provided it makes the finish, and Nia Jax doesn't split Asuka's skull open through her inability to safely perform the craft.

No, we're actually getting Asuka Vs. Nia Jax as advertised, if not promoted. With a bit of luck, to minimise the threat of danger, Asuka puts Jax away in a quick, shocking squash designed to put her over as an equal to Flair, who WWE is promoting as the biggest person in the world now, and she's covered in gold.
