10 Expectations Vs. Reality For WWE Royal Rumble 2021
7. Making A Surprise Entrance In The Men's Rumble Match Is...
Expectation:
A pandemic won't get in the way of a bit of nostalgic fun!
Well it should, since Jimmy Hart is literally 78 years old and just shared a screen with Drew McIntyre. Also the 61 year-old Gillberg recovered from a heart attack in November last year and participated in a deeply inessential comedy segment that detracted from a big match build, if anything.
Also chill the f*ck out WWE stan mutants, AEW needs to be more careful too.
It was thought the stars of NXT wouldn't make their presence felt at the Rumble this year, because bubbles, but they've just mixed at Superstar Spectacle. So one might expect further interaction, or perhaps even an outright promotion, the obvious irony to that word notwithstanding. Damien Priest was all but written out of NXT at New Year's Evil, and is a great candidate to get over via the famed 'Diesel Run'.
"I had the chance to talk to Damien Priest earlier today, and he told me that he's ready to fire an arrow into the heart of Monday Night RAW," Michael Cole will say before Priest loses his first four matches by DQ.
Reality:
Cameron Grimes is a piss-funny highlight of NXT and is very capable of getting over through various comedy spots. Not that you'd wish anything like that upon him. He's probably too funny for his own good, sadly, so expect him to eliminate himself trying to catch his hat or something.
