10 Expectations Vs. Reality For WWE SummerSlam 2021

7. Will WWE Make Damian Priest?

Expectation:

WWE seem to rather like Damian Priest.

He was partnered with Bad Bunny throughout WrestleMania season, has featured regularly on RAW, and...

Look, he hasn't been vanished or beaten ad nauseam at random. This is as good as it gets in WWE in 2021. He's done very well to stay over and not invite ridicule. This is a performer who has hucked tomatoes at The Miz and worked a match with polite, professional zombies acting as lumberjacks, and he is set for a United States Title match as a wrestler who, while normalised by RAW as most are, isn't a complete joke. He has transcended to an extent some of the most sh*tty material seen on RAW this year. Think of the ground that covers.

But WWE are also rather fond of...

Reality:

...making their babyfaces look like total clowns!

The thing about Damian Priest is that he arrived from NXT, which Vince McMahon has come to resent. Perhaps the temptation to bury the man will prove irresistible; after all, Priest has a certain signature move that might prove his undoing.

Perhaps, at summerSlam, Priest will hit Sheamus with the bell clap and hurt his hand on Sheamus' mask.

Priest's height Vs. Vince's vindictiveness is one of the better undercard attractions on the show.
