10 Expectations Vs. Reality For WWE WrestleMania 35

2. Ronda Rousey Vs. Charlotte Flair Vs. Becky Lynch

Expectation:

The main event of WrestleMania 35 is a heated war of a match. It is the best of the best of WWE; a classic fusion of imported MMA legitimacy, old school wrasslin' hatred and sports entertainment spectacle, all performed in front of tens and tens and tens of thousands of rabid hardcore fans locked under the spell of monumental history manifesting itself.

The build is escalated incredibly, and yet, it is constantly threatened by the end-at-any-time Triple Threat dynamic, and Ronda's aura as a killer with a striking deathblow. After 18 or so minutes of awesomeness, Becky traps Ronda with the Disarm Her. The crowd is going apesh*t. This is it. Tap! Tap! Just then, with Ronda's hand hovering frantically over the mat, Charlotte Flair slinks back into the ring with a conniving expression on her face. We know what's coming, godd*mn you Charlotte. She launches herself in Becky's direction, ready to spike her head to the mat with the Natural Selection. But, in one sudden, electrifying movement, Becky moves out of harm's way, and also manoeuvres Ronda's arm into a position so sickening that she can only tap.

Completing the last, loftiest 'Stone Cold' comparison, Becky awakens an exhausted crowd into one of the most monstrous pops in company history.

Reality:

The main event of a 7.5 hour show, we watch it passively, with one eye cast towards the sweet release of sleep. When we wake up, we share a wry laugh. The r/SquaredCircle thread 'Shower Thought: We should have asked for HHH Vs. Batista to main event so that we cared about everything else' reaches 7.5k upvotes.
