10 Famous Wrestling Gimmicks That Ripped Off Real People

3. Bray Wyatt (Charles Manson)

Instantly upon his first appearances on the main roster in 2013, wrestling fans started to draw comparisons between Bray Wyatt and Charles Manson. The latter man is currently still in prison, stemming from arrest over a spate of murders in the 1970's. Manson himself didn't literally commit the killings, but he was imprisoned due to conspiracy, as well as enabling others to commit the atrocities. A cult-like figure of insanity, Manson somehow still sends chills up the spines of many today despite his imprisonment. It's been noted before that Wyatt's character was influenced by the movie 'Cape Fear', but it's also fair to assume he took influence from the notorious former leader of the 'Manson Family'. Not only does Bray share the same long hair and beard of Manson, the way he talks during promos is also very similar to criminal's delivery. Hushed and foreboding, Bray Wyatt spews a mantra that is intoxicating to listen to. There's definitely a comparison there between the way Manson filled other people's heads full of insane babblings in the 70's. The way Bray attempts to 'save' his victims is very much in tow with what Charles Manson seemed to be all about.
