There's just something about summertime that makes people happier and more energetic. And why wouldn't we be? The sun is shining, the days are long, and the weather is warm.

Well, apparently, pro-wrestlers echo the same sentiments, as this August produced more 5-star matches in a single calendar month than any other month in pro-wrestling history.

August of 2019 featured not three, not four, but *seven* 5-star matches in just a 31-day span. To put this into perspective, this is the equivalent of having one 5-star match roughly every five days. That is, to phrase this lightly, f**king bananas.

Coincidentally, this past August also broke the record for most scale-breaking matches in one month, with a total of four matches rated over 5-stars, those being Shingo Takagi vs. Tomohiro Ishii in the G1, Kota Ibushi vs. Jay White in the G1 Finals, the Lucha Brothers vs. the Young Bucks at AEW All Out, and WALTER vs. Tyler Bate at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff. The latter two of those matches also made history, as they are the first two higher-than-5-star matches to have taken place on the same day (August 31).

Talk about one hell of a month to be a pro-wrestling fan.
