10 Fascinating Facts About Famous Wrestling Promos

1. Triple H Used An Onscreen Promo To Take Control Of WWE Developmental

One week after their famous silent stare-down of 2011, Triple H said the quiet part loud.

The quiet part was "Everybody else is pretty sh*t, right? They're not as good as me, Triple H. Also you I suppose".

The initial taunt-off worked because the audience was encouraged to infer that the Undertaker Vs. Triple H at WrestleMania XXVII was such an epic prospect that it didn't even need to be promoted. This was ruined within seven days because that wasn't enough. Everything else had to suck in comparison.

"When I look around in the back, there are no challenges left, really," Triple H said, burying the entire locker room as hopeless inessential geeks to make himself look good. Months later, he worked himself into the job of developing better talent.

It's something of a stretch to call this a fact, granted - it's not as if Vince McMahon heard the promo in gorilla and immediately instructed Triple H to sign Super Dragon - but it's quite the coincidence, isn't it, that the failure of developmental was made canon before Triple H sought to correct the process?
