10 Fascinating Facts About WWE In 2013

1. Punk Was Meant To Headline WrestleMania

Later, The Rock revealed his own bombshell during an interview to promote Jumanji in 2016: CM Punk was originally meant to be involved in a three-way vs. John Cena and himself at WrestleMania 29. If true and not a cutting room floor idea Punk wasn't privy too, then it's no wonder CM got sick and tired of WWE's politics.

This actually makes some sense, because WWE looked foolish for going back on their “Once In A Lifetime” branding for Cena vs. Rock when they booked a rematch. Sure, Punk hardly lost out by spinning off into a feud vs. The Undertaker, but he surely would've picked a headline berth on the biggest show of the year instead.

What could've been.

It's unlikely Vince McMahon would've pivoted on his plan to crown John Cena the new WWE Champ at 'Mania, but Punk would've scratched the 'Mania main event itch and received an even tastier payday as a result. Fans in attendance for the show would've probs been louder for a three-way involving Punk than the singles rematch too.
