This was just flat out odd.

Vince McMahon was prone to inane edicts that blighted WWE programming for a while before he got bored and moved onto something else. For example, in 2013, babyfaces were told not to look too despondent following a loss. That...kinda stomps all over the point of booking heroes to lose in the first place.

The then-boss believed that fans wouldn't want to see faces get upset. That's why Eva Marie smiled and high-fived fans on her way to the back after being eliminated during a bumper tag at Survivor Series. Yep, you were supposed to ignore the fact that Marie was being loudly booed by fans in the arena. She was a face. Honest!

Typically, this new decree wasn't enforced across the board. It only happened on select occasions. Huh? In other words, it was just the midcard pack that had to worry about breaking McMahon's new rule. Main eventers apparently didn't have to think about it at all.
