10 Fascinating WWE Backstage Facts About Bray Wyatt

9. Helped Blue Pants Relax Backstage At NXT

Professional wrestler Leva Bates' tenure with the WWE may have been brief, but it lasted long enough for Bray Wyatt to leave an indelible impression on the young wrestler.

As the improbably-named Blue Pants, Bates quickly became a cult favourite with the NXT audience, leading to her receiving multiple bookings despite never signing an official contract. Unfortunately, as reported via Fightful, this led to the azure-trousered superstar developing anxiety, as she felt like she was stepping on the toes of the signed talent on the roster.

That is, until Bray Wyatt struck up a conversation with her in the cafeteria. While the conversation itself was forgettable, simply being approached as an equal by a fellow wrestler put Leva at ease, and she never forgot Bray's small act of kindess to her.

Bray Wyatt's actions may not seem that remarkable, but when you consider the context, it perfectly illustrates the character of the man. By the time Blue Pants appeared in NXT, Wyatt was already one of the biggest names in wrestling (he wrestled John Cena at WrestleMania the same year Blue Pants debuted). For Bray to go out of his way to make an unsigned, low-card wrestler feel comfortable showed uncommon decency for someone in his position, and left enough of an impression on Leva that she honored his passing by wrestling as him on an independent show.
