10 Fascinating WWE Backstage Facts About Bray Wyatt
6. He Did NOT Appear Backstage With Sting As A Child
While on the subject of Bo Dallas, there's a popular photo of Sting hanging around backstage with two boys often assumed to be the Rotunda brothers. You can understand how the rumour got started - Mike Rotunda was contracted with WCW at the time, and the image of The Icon meeting the soon-to-become iconic Bray makes for a great yarn.
However, as so often happens, the facts eventually got in the way of the story.
As the linked-to Instagram post reveals, Bray had absolutely no idea who the two boys in the photo are, just that they are equivocally not him or his brother. Yet even when doing something as simple as debunking a rumour, Wyatt's inherent kindness shines through.
In his Instagram post, Bray revealed he'd been good-naturedly signing the picture for years, and that he only clarified the situation because he wants the boys in the photo to receive their props ("I think it’s high time you step up and take credit for this cool ass picture of you and prime Stinger.")
It may not be the biggest story in the world, but Wyatt's insistence on ensuring the two fans in the wrestling photo get their moment in the sun is another reminder of how he lived his life looking out for others, in ways both big and small.
(For the record, the closest Wyatt got to Sting in a professional capacity was tweeting that, if the Oakland Raiders made the 2021 Super Bowl he would "...fight Sting at halftime in a chainsaw death match". Sadly for fans of wrestling and the Raiders, neither event occurred).
