10 Fascinating WWE Facts About WrestleMania 36

3. Vince Takes A Dive

Ignoring the toxic nature of the gesture, those closest to Vince McMahon always loved the fact that he supposedly "wouldn't ask you to do something that he wasn't prepared to do himself", ignoring the fact that he didn't have to do half of this stuff every night, that he faced no direct consequences if the thing was ultimately dumb enough to get somebody fired, or was rich and protected enough to experience zero risk.

The real line should have been "Vince wanted to people to do all sorts of nonsense and would do it himself to gaslight others", but that wouldn't have scanned quite as well in a Network special. And in this case at least, it resulted in quite the deranged little scene.

As broadcast as part of the company's annual 24 documentary on the making of the event, McMahon felt the best way of explaining a dive into bodies and padding he wanted Rob Gronkowski to take was to do it himself. Then-74 (or as he'd say on X, "75"), the former Chairman climbed onto the balcony in question and hurled himself off of it.
