If you were like this author and were a blissful mark in the Hulkamania years, you may have subscribed to WWE Magazine, and relished its arrival in your mailbox once a month. Because of editorial deadlines, sometimes WWE's Magazine would give away pertinent details of unaired events. WWE booking has been known to change on the fly, and what's already going to the presses may not always jive with in-the-moment reality.

Case in point: the final qualifying match saw Tatanka prevail over Crush in a dull twenty-minute lumberjack match. That encounter did not air until June 6, 1994, around a week after the latest edition of WWE Magazine shipped out to subscribers. In that issue, Tatanka was already listed in the tournament brackets, squaring off with Owen Hart in round one.
