The 2002 Rumble match would turn out to be the final one for Stone Cold Steve Austin, after having been an important fixture in them from 1997 onward. With three Rumble victories in his rear-view, a fourth one wasn't to be, as Austin's involvement in WrestleMania X8 would not include the WWE Championship.

Austin came in fourth place in the 2002 Rumble match, after being eliminated by Kurt Angle. Having made it to that point stretched a milestone for Austin, making him the first man to make it to the Final Four on five occasions (1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002).

To that point, he was the only man to have even done it four times (The Rock had three to his credit). Kane would be the next to join Austin, notching his fifth in 2008.
