10 Fascinating WWE Royal Rumble 2008 Facts

4. It Was The Only Rumble Match For Mr. Kennedy

Cursed by a potent blend of injuries and bad timing, the once highly-touted Mr. Kennedy would find himself excised from WWE in the spring of 2009. Through presence, charisma, and a dedication to being the consummate heel, it once seemed Kennedy would help populate the main event for years to come, but it wasn't to be.

The 2008 Rumble match was the only one that Mr. Kennedy would ever take part in. He would miss the 2006 and 2009 editions with injuries, while his participation in 2007 was against Batista, over the World Heavyweight title.

Entering from the number 23 spot, Kennedy lasted more than 13 minutes, and even eliminated Shawn Michaels. At the time, very few would have guessed that his best WWE days were already behind him.
