Rey Mysterio has often donned special gear for big pay-per-views (primarily WrestleMania) that would co-opt the look of a hero or villain from a comic book movie. Outfits like Daredevil, Captain America, and Heath Ledger's Joker have dotted Mysterio's cosplay resume, and his SummerSlam 2007 look managed his ruffle the boss' feathers.

In a recent shoot interview with Hornswoggle, he revealed that when Mysterio showed up at SummerSlam paying homage to Silver Surfer (complete with silver paint all over his torso), that McMahon screamed at Dean Malenko (the agent for Mysterio's match), not understanding what Mysterio was supposed to be. When told that it was a superhero-based look, McMahon angrily said that it "was not Rey".
