10 Fascinating WWE SummerSlam 2016 Facts
1. Lesnar Was Confronted By An Irate Chris Jericho
Few people in WWE knew how the Lesnar/Orton match was supposed to end. Joining Mike Chioda and virtually everyone else outside that loop was Chris Jericho, who was alarmed by the amount of bloodshed that had taken place. According to Meltzer, Jericho had asked Michael Hayes if that was the planned finish, and Hayes (apparently adhering to the secrecy of the match plan, even after the match was over) wouldn't answer.
Just as Jericho began to flip his lid, Lesnar returned to the Gorilla Position, and thought Jericho was badmouthing him. By Jericho's account, the two quickly came nose-to-nose. Meltzer's report indicates that both men got physical, citing that one version of story had Jericho shoving Lesnar against a wall.
The two reportedly tangled in a scrap until Triple H and Vince McMahon intervened, at which time McMahon made it clear to Jericho that Lesnar's thrashing of Orton was planned. Things cooled down more when Orton corroborated the story, that Lesnar wasn't taking liberties with him.
