In the previous entry, it was mentioned that Survivor Series 1993 set a new low for WWE's Big Five pay-per-views, only managing 180,000 buys. At this point in time, buyrates were falling for all of the events, which is why it's so surprising to see the 1994 Survivor Series pull in such a higher number.

The event was good for 254,000 buys, an increase of 41 percent from the previous year. Historically, Survivor Series sees a hefty drop-off from SummerSlam, but it wasn't as bad in 1994. SummerSlam did 300,000 buys, so a 15 percent dip is actually quite favorable compared to other years.

Of course, putting Chuck Norris on any pay-per-view will jack up the buyrate considerably. He was more than worth the $4 billion in pirate coins that Vince McMahon paid him to show up.
