Furnas and Lafon teamed with The Godwinns against Hart, Smith, and the New Rockers, in what turned out to be a fast-paced blur of an exhibition, and a bit of a lost Survivor Series classic. It wasn't exactly Jannetty's finest hour, however. He was the first man eliminated, after sustaining Henry Godwinn's Slop Drop.

Prior to the elimination, Jannetty spent his last couple minutes in the match badly limping. It was revealed later that Jannetty had chipped a bone in his foot, in addition to severely spraining his ankle.

On top of the injuries, Survivor Series 1996 really marked the end of Jannetty's last true run through the company. The New Rockers were a go-nowhere proposition, and Jannetty left shortly before the end of the year, allegedly frustrated at his position on the card.
