10 Fascinating WWE Survivor Series 1998 Facts

2. The New Age Outlaws Were Acting A Little Funny After The PPV

Back in the early Attitude Era, following major pay-per-views, WWE would have a combination wrap-up show/merchandise sale on the Home Shopping Network. Fans supercharged by the night's action could tune in, hear comments from the wrestlers, and possibly be convinced to order a t-shirt or two. Definitely an interesting concept.

During the course of the special, Michael Hayes interviewed Road Dogg and Billy Gunn, and it's pretty clear that the duo are on a different planet. Both were a little chattier and out-of-left-field than one might expect them to be, quoting Coming to America and cracking each other up with general silliness. Whatever was flowing through their bodies, it must've been some good stuff.

The two took some shots at The Rock during their spiel, and the new WWE Champion just so happened to have a chance to respond later. Rock went a little bit out of character to bring up Billy Gunn's failed gimmicks, as well as Road Dogg's alleged love of certain substances (Rock abruptly, and wisely, cut himself off while mentioning that last part). It's truly one of the most surreal WWE-related endeavors ever broadcast.
