10 Fascinating WWE Survivor Series 2000 Facts

8. Hardcore Holly Had Only Returned The Previous Week

On 28 June 2000, Hardcore Holly sustained a broken arm as a result of a Kurt Angle moonsault that didn't exactly hit its intended target. The injury was a bit more serious than your garden-variety break, and the reliable Holly would be out until the fall months.

At the Survivor Series pay-per-view, Holly lost a European title match by disqualification to William Regal. The match was short, just under six minutes, and only came about as a pre-show challenge. In effect, it was there to pad the card.

Holly had only returned to the ring eight nights before Survivor Series, losing to Regal at a pair of weekend house shows in Ohio. His return to TV took place on Raw six nights prior to the pay-per-view, attacking Angle following Angle's victory over Holly's kayfabe cousin Crash.
