Batista found it hard to get booed in his announced hometown of Washington DC, as he pulverized and bludgeoned Rey Mysterio before the capital crowd. In maybe any other city, Batista would've gotten some good heat for brutalizing a man half his size, instead of receiving chants of, "one more time!"

Apparently, the feud between Batista and Mysterio was to have lasted a bit longer, instead of having Batista decisively crush Mysterio at Survivor Series. According to The Wrestling Observer, the angle was to have been a "full program", and Mysterio was supposed to work straight on through WrestleMania XXVIII before having needed knee surgery.

Instead, Mysterio had his knee scoped shortly after the pay-per-view (the beatdown allowed him a reason to "lay low"). He was pretty much back to full action by mid-December. Meanwhile, Batista took the momentum of the Survivor Series win into a one-and-done angle with Undertaker for the TLC pay-per-view.
