1. The Kliq Gained Its Fifth Member That Night
As Michaels remembers it, he and Nash were sitting together backstage at the Civic Center, when a 25-year-old ex-WCW talent approached them. His name was Paul Levesque, and he was told by veteran wrestler Terry Taylor that Michaels and his co-horts were precisely the in-crowd to get to know.
Levesque, obviously, is the man who would eventually come to rule the wrestling world as Triple H, and he was immediately integrating himself with the influential Kliq that would eventually aid his career's ascent. At the time, Levesque was finishing up a non-compete period with World Championship Wrestling, which he had quit near the end of January. He certainly didn't have anywhere near the pull of a Shawn Michaels or a Kevin Nash in the spring of 1995.
