Anything that tried to follow Hogan and Rock's clash of eras was quite simply doomed. The Women's Championship triple threat didn't have a prayer, no matter how well regarded Trish Stratus was in her native Toronto. At least Trish had other 'Mania stages on which to shine as a performer. The same can't be said for Lita.

Sure, Lita's gotten physical in other WrestleMania matches (TLC at X7, the Edge/Foley match at 22), but the triple threat in which she was pinned by Jazz constitutes her only WrestleMania match as a participant.

To make matters worse, according to WWE staffer Seth Mates, the general crowd silence for the match resulted in Lita being able to hear a few fans in the front row openly calling her a nasty name. Lita complained about the situation in an interview with Mates for WWE.com right after the show, a story which Mates says never ran.
