It was going to take a lot for Lesnar to come out of the WWE Championship match in worse shape than Angle, and he damn near did it. John Laurinaitis was the agent for the Angle/Lesnar showdown, and made the suggestion to Lesnar during 'Mania-day lunch that he win with a shooting star press, a move he'd previously done in Ohio Valley Wrestling. Lesnar hesitated, having not done the move in more than a year, but Laurinaitis and Jim Ross sold him on it being a spectacular finish to the biggest show of the year.

Lesnar set about practicing the move that afternoon in the official WrestleMania ring with the aid of crash pads, and found it simple enough. Of course, it wasn't that simple during the actual match, when an exhausted Lesnar under-rotated and nearly broke his neck on the landing.

Lesnar maintains he doesn't even remember the finishing the match, but recalls that when he groggily arrived at sponsor appearance the following morning, he began vomiting, noted effects of a concussion.
