6. Another Undertaker Streak Ends

Truthfully speaking, The Undertaker's WrestleMania career should have ended with The Streak. What more was there for the Deadman to accomplish on the Grandest Stage of Them All? Sure, there remained a litany of dream matches, but sometimes it is better to leave well enough alone. Even with Lesnar's shocking win at WMXXX, The Streak was one of the few things in wrestling history that retained a sheen of magic.

For whatever reason, 'Taker continued wrestling at 'Mania for four years after it ended, beating Bray Wyatt, Shane McMahon and John Cena while picking up another defeat at the hands of Roman Reigns. There was no 'Taker match at WrestleMania 35, however, making it the first Showcase of the Immortals to go on without wrestling's most infamous zombie mortician since WrestleMania 2000.

That's a whopping 19 years, for the record, 18 'Taker matches buttressed by notable absences. The Undertaker's total of 27 WrestleMania matches will likely never be beaten, although it is important to remember that WWE remains stuck in the recent past. It isn't out of the question that Triple H will clock in for another handful of matches at the Show of Shows. Maybe the evergreen Randy Orton will still be going in a decade. Time will tell.

Who am I kidding, Undertaker will return for another 'Mania match some day, right?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
