5. Randy Savage Reportedly Gave Hulk Hogan His Black Eye
Nothing's juicier than a professional wrestling urban legend. When Hulk Hogan arrived at WrestleMania 9 with his left eye looking like hell, people were understandably curious as to why. The kayfabe reason was that Money Inc had paid off goons to jump Hogan the night before. The "real" reason is that Hogan injured it in a jet ski accident (just his eye and not anything else, apparently).
Others claim that Savage drilled Hogan in the face during a heated confrontation. Matt Borne (Doink) avowed in an interview that Savage's ex-wife Elizabeth (they divorced in the fall of 1992) was seeing a friend of Hogan's, and that Hulk was hiding that fact from Savage. He also claims the punch did happen.
Savage himself confirmed in a 1993 Radio WWF interview that Hogan (who he would periodically badmouth on commentary in late-1993, even after Hulk left the company again) was underhanded, and went as far as to claim that Hogan and his then-wife Linda conspired to end the Poffos' marriage by manipulating Elizabeth. Savage, however, said nothing about punching Hogan, but others have drawn their own conclusions.
