10 Fastest WWE Title Changes Ever
8. Triple H Buries Orton... Again
Speaking of Randy Orton, here he is holding the WWE Championship for a little over 20 minutes at No Mercy 2007, for what is the eighth shortest world title reign in the company's history.
This was pretty similar to the Dolph Ziggler scenario in that Vince McMahon decided that, instead of holding a tournament or match to crown the next champion, he would simply award the belt to his favourite employee, Randy Orton (only here it wasn't because the two of them were sleeping together).
Only problem was that Triple H was watching keenly from the back, and he didn't like what he was seeing. The Game came down to the ring immediately and goaded The Legend Killer into putting his new prize on the line in the evening's opening bout.
Orton took the bait, and (of course) ended up losing after a roll-up pin. He would be without the title for a little more than two hours, at which point he beat his former Evolution leader - who had also faced Umaga in the meantime - in a nasty Last Man Standing match to close the show.
