The WWE Universe would s**t their collective pants if Jeff Hardy answered a John Cena US Championship Open Challenge. If WWE wanted to test the waters on the response to Jeff from the live crowd, this would actually be the best way to make that happen. That first guitar riff on the Hardy Boyz entrance theme hitting would definitely be a moment, and Cena putting over the moment would be really amazing. Does Cena do the job to Hardy in his debut? Maybe. It's one of those things where Cena would lose NOTHING in losing, and if you wanted to build to a rematch at a PPV, that's ABSOLUTELY a money match. Or, having someone do a run-in, like say, Kofi Kingston, you can build to a Cena and Hardy versus New Day tag match for the tag belts which is actually not the worst idea ever.
