10 Feuds That Made WWE

1. WWF VS WCW

Wwf Vs Wcw This wasn't the company's first major feud, but it probably goes down as the most important. Some wrestling fans really don't understand just how close WCW was to putting the WWF out of business during the Monday Night War. WCW was absolutely on fire, giving wrestling fans everything they wanted to see. They were destroying the WWF in the ratings every week, having great pay-per-view numbers, and selling merchandise like nobody's business. The WWF just couldn't compete, no matter how hard they tried. It's said that competition provides motivation to become great, and that was never truer than during the Attitude Era. Knowing that the WWF was on top helped push WCW to do what they had to do to reach that level. Once WCW was on the rise, the WWF knew they couldn't rest on their laurels anymore. When WCW took the top spot over, the WWF went into panic mode, pushing their product to a new space. WCW had the nWo, Goldberg, Diamond Dallas Page, Sting, and some of the best Cruiserweights in the entire world. The WWF had "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock, Degeneration X, Mankind, The Undertaker, and much more. That's a lot of star power, giving fans plenty to sink their teeth into every Monday night. When it's referred to as a "war", people mean it. Both companies took shots at each other, occasionally crossing the line and playing dirty to do it. If not for WCW management's terrible decision making, who knows what the end of the war would have been? Perhaps we would still be watching Monday Night Nitro every week, while our "Rise & Fall Of The WWF" DVDs sit on our shelves. Think about that for a moment. The WWF got hot at just the right time, flying past WCW and never looking back. Unfortunately, we'll probably never see competition like that again. Companies try to be there, but it hasn't worked out yet. Maybe Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling can be there one day, but it remains to be seen. WWE could really use that extra boost, that's for sure.
