Another prime example of WWE getting tag team wrestling correct, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan's challenge for Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly's NXT Tag Team Championships went down a treat at the second TakeOver: Chicago.

This is the match where Burch and Lorcan won over the NXT audience, having previously been a fodder tandem for the likes of the AOP, Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong, and even f**king Riddick Moss and Tino Sabbatelli. They came into this being booed by the Chicago audience. By the end? Those same fans were chanting for the future Kings of NXT.

It was vital that this bout be cut in half; starting off slow, it was a certified banger by the end that saw Oney Lorcan revert to indie darling Biff Busick. The guy that had once torn down the American Legion Post #308 in Reseda was doing the same thing in Rosemont's Allstate Arena, executing his once-patented half and half suplex and running uppercut.

This all went down without a hitch. Strong and O'Reilly were hardly going to drop the straps, but Danny and Oney had to get over here. That they did so in such an exceptional contest is a testament to how tremendously well-booked NXT was at the time.
