NXT fans cared about Wesley Blake, Buddy Murphy, Aiden English and Simon Gotch. Watching main roster WWE, though, you'd never realise such a thing. The image above shows precisely how much the NXT fanbase loved the Vaudevillains in their moment of glory.

The match that contained said moment of glory was a belter, too.

Going down at the hit TakeOver: Brooklyn the weekend of SummerSlam 2015, English and Gotch wrestled a compelling match against the champions, capped off with the pair hitting Murphy with the Whirling Dervish to lift the straps after Gotch's divine hot tag. Sticking to some of the typical Babyface vs. Heel tropes didn't matter too much; there was still enough flavour to make this as delightful a match as it was.

It's strange looking back and seeing a major venue go wild for the quartet. Far and away the highlight of English and Gotch's WWE tenure together, this was the beginning of the NXT Tag Team Championships becoming a massive factor of NXT programming. At this time, the division was beginning to boom, with these two, American Alpha, the Revival, and Enzo Amore and Big Cass all coming through.

Again, while not the night's biggest match, it's still worth a rewatch today for the pops alone. The Vaudevillians were a class tag team that suffered immensely; they were deserving of this sort of moment.
