Whenever you're a second, third or even fourth generation wrestling star, it can be tough to make your own mark on the WWE without continually being compared to your relatives. There are plenty of examples of guys struggling to break out of the limelight their predecessors created in years gone by, and David Hart Smith certainly falls into that category. In truth, Smith was overshadowed by two of the greatest wrestlers of all-time - given how his father is The British Bulldog and his uncle is Bret Hart. He was hamstrung by a 30-day suspension not long after initially making his WWE debut, but The Hart Dynasty concept was a good one, and it certainly paid dividends for a lengthy period. However, after the stable split the booking of both Smith and Tyson Kidd was absolutely disastrous, and although Kidd is still with the company, Smith left way back in 2011. He's since cut his cloth accordingly in the wrestling world, remaining active by competing in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He had a Shawn Michaels 'lost my smile' moment before he left, saying he had lost the passion for wrestling during his time in the WWE. That was no doubt due to poor handling from the WWE, and if he did get another go, you'd have to hope the company appreciate what a talent they have on their hands. Smith is a damn fine wrestler, and could still have a successful career with the WWE if they went around together again.
