10 Former WWE Stars Who Have Surprisingly Normal Jobs
10. Nova/Simon Dean
Mike Bucci grafted for years on the independents and in ECW as Nova, the workhorse member of the Blue World Order. After ditching the bWo colours, he became the 'innovator of offense', becoming renowned for his ever-expanding move set. All the suplex and submission variations in the world weren't going to get him into WWE, however. No, to make it in the big time, he needed to change. Deliberately cheesy fitness guru Simon Dean (complete with infomercials) was Bucci's ticket to the main roster. Vince McMahon purportedly loved the gimmick and, while the act was strictly midcard material, Dean was nevertheless a regularly featured performer and made more money in his brief run as Simon Dean than he had ever made on the indies. After voluntarily saying goodbye to the powder blue sweatpants in August 2006, Bucci took a job as head of WWE developmental. He wanted to have executive experience on his CV, since he knew he was never going to be a 'wrestling lifer' and was already preparing for life away from the business. These days, Nova/Simon Dean is the branch manager for Woodforest National Bank in Louisville, Kentucky. He has only made a handful of appearances on the independent circuit. Selling mortgages must be more lucrative than selling the Simon System, then.
