10 Fun Facts About My Trip To WWE WrestleMania XIX

6. Going To Spokane To See Sable Return

In my last article about attending WrestleMania events, I went into detail about the strange Red Roof Inn receptionist, Matt, who kindly drove us the 6 hours to Spokane to see the Post-WrestleMania SmackDown, only for us to find out when we got there that he wasn€™t even going to the show.

When we got to the arena and he told us he€™d just hang around outside, I felt pretty bad. I bought him a Coke and a Hot Dog to alleviate my guilt and off we went to my first SmackDown taping. It was a pretty fun show that included everything from an Undertaker versus Rey Mysterio match to a completely bonkers Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon segment.

The highlight for me, however, was the return of Sable. Marc Mero€™s former wife interrupted Torrie Wilson to say she was back in the WWE and that there was room for both of them in the company. I can€™t really explain why I went so mental for Sable€™s re-emergence like Steve Austin had just walked through the curtain, but as an Attitude Era teenager, it was a great, very surprising return.

Was the Spokane trip worth the six hour drive each way and waking up in a field with Matt watching us sleep, proclaiming he was 'just resting'?

Ummm, for the purposes of writing this list, I guess it was.
