10 Fun Facts About My Trip To WWE WrestleMania XX

10. Stone Cold Destroys Rene Dupree

The post-WrestleMania RAW is now an annual tradition where it€™s filled with European fans and there€™s always two or three exciting happenings on the show. Back in 2004, however, it hadn€™t quite reached that level yet. RAW was held in nearby New Jersey but, overall, it wasn€™t a particularly exciting follow up to WrestleMania XX.

We had the announcement of a draft the following week in Detroit and new World Champ Chris Benoit teamed with Shawn Michaels to battle Evolution but there wasn€™t anything hugely interesting on the broadcast apart from when Rene Dupree made his way to the ring (bizarre as that sounds).

It was halfway through the broadcast and the crowd were starting to wonder if there was anything to get excited about and then Rene came to the ring to cut a promo, being jeered unmercifully by the New Jersey crowd. Then it happened and the glass broke as Stone Cold Steve Austin made his way to the ring and delivered Stunners to the French-Canadian, drank some beer and gave the 'Mania crowd another fun moment.

It would also be Austin€™s last appearance as a regular WWE character as he left the company later that week.
