10 Funniest Wrestling Moments Of 2018

6. AAA TripleMania

Office Mexico
AAA

An unwitting comedic double act performed by two dipsh*ts who consider themselves the smartest guys in the room, the Vampiro/Matt Striker partnership was a potent patter cocktail at AAA's schadenfreude Godsend of a TripleMania spectacular.

Streamed live on Twitch, Vampiro throughout the entire show broke the fourth fall, the thinnest veneer of professionalism, and, yes, wind, as he raged in the face of everything falling apart around him. His microphone "sucked"...because he couldn't work out how to speak into it correctly, something Striker managed to pull off. His equipment sucked. His broadcast colleague "sucked" (that much was true). Everything sucked except Vampiro, whose delusion, tragically, hilariously clear to everybody but himself, manifested as countless moments of pure gold.

This was always going to end horribly, for Vampiro is a nonsensical character, and Striker, for whatever reason, derives perverse pleasure from explaining away nonsense nonsensically. He's like if Jonathan Coachman thought he was Mike Tenay.

And end horribly it did, when the production dept. failed to cue up Vamp's music for his big run-in spot. Staunchly refusing to improvise a more believable scenario, Vampiro instead waited, impatiently, seething at these morons for failing him. To salvage this, lol, Striker commended Vampiro for waiting. It underscored his, f*ck off, professionalism.

Nothing will ever capture the fragility of undue ego quite like Spinal Tap...on purpose. This did.
