10 Genius Wrestling Characters That Happened At The Wrong Time

1. 'Loose Cannon' Brian Pillman

Brian Pillman's life would tragically end in October, 1997. In the midst of a hot storyline involving The Hart Foundation, Pillman was finally getting some of the recognition he deserved, but it was not to last. Known as the 'Loose Cannon', it was actually years earlier in WCW that the guy had started to develop that unpredictable character. So good was Pillman at being wacky and erratic that he actually convinced a lot of people inside the wrestling industry that he had legitimately lost his mind. That's an incredible thought, but the man also somehow convinced Eric Bischoff to actually release his from his WCW contract, so he could go and cultivate the 'Loose Cannon' persona in ECW. Pillman would never return to WCW, joining the WWF after a short stint in the land of extreme. There's no doubt about it, Brian Pillman would have been excellent throughout 1998 and 1999 had he been able to stay healthy. Unfortunately, injuries and health concerns had plagued him throughout his entire career, robbing fans of the chance to see the 'Loose Cannon' idea really come to the fore.
