Major Update On Johnny Gargano's WWE Future After Social Media Bio Speculation (WWE News)
Is Johnny Gargano DONE with WWE?
With his 2026 having largely consisted of simply lying on crates backstage at WWE SmackDown, many fans have noticed that Johnny Gargano now doesn't have any WWE references mentioned in his X bio.
As is often the case, when a WWE talent removes such references from their bio, it's usually a strong indicator that they are either on their way out of the company or have already departed the market leader. Hot on the heels of Ilja Dragunov being the latest name to choose to head for the WWE exit door, and given how poorly Johnny Wrestling has been utilised in 2026, fans have added all of this up and come to the conclusion that Gargano is done with WWE.
However, the catch here is, as pointed out by False Finish on X, Johnny Gargano hasn't had any references to WWE in his social media bio for years. So, this is essentially a non-story, with False Finish adding that Gargano is still listed on WWE's internal roster.
As alluded to, it's been a strange ol' year for Johnny, with the former two-time WWE Tag Team Champion having wrestled just five main roster matches so far in 2026, the most recent being the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the SmackDown before WrestleMania 42. Added to that, the last time Johnny Gargano won a match was back in November, when he and Tommaso Ciampa picked up a win over Fraxiom. Of course, Ciampa left WWE in January after opting not to renew his contract. The Psycho Killer immediately signed with AEW, quickly became the TNT Champion, and has been a regular presence on weekly TV and PPVs, including a high-profile No Holds Barred bout against Chris Jericho at AEW Redemption last month.
It remains to be seen what's in the long-term future for Johnny Gargano, but for now, the Ohio native is very much still a part of the WWE roster.
