10 Gimmicks WWE Needs To Bring Back In 2017 (And Who Should Use Them)
9. The Real Man's Man
Most people associate the term 'a man's man' in professional wrestling with William Regal's hilarious initial gimmick in 1998. He was a lumberjack/builder type, a man's man in a hard hat who got on with tough outdoors jobs. He probably unscrewed lids, killed spiders and had a collection of Duran Duran LPs.
The idea of a man's man is one that is tailor-made for professional wrestling but seldom seems to get used. Silas Young has made the gimmick his own in Ring of Honor, the self-proclaimed Last Real Man in Professional Wrestling looks for the world like a rugged old-timey fighting man, and I'm not talking carny-style.
This would undoubtedly work in the reality era. In a world of man buns, hipster beards and selfies a salty old dude with hair on his chest and brass knucks on his hand would be great. Sounds perfect for Viktor or Drew Gulak methinks.
