Coming over from World Championship Wrestling in 2001, Diamond Dallas Page should have been a ready-made star. So eager was Page to work in WWE that he actually waved guaranteed money from AOL/Time Warner, cutting his contract short so he could make a splash. That must be a regret from the man, because the then-WWF treated him really shoddily. By the time DDP signed on to work under Vince McMahon, he was no Spring chicken. That fact can't be denied, the man was well past 40, but he still had a lot more to offer. Instead of quickly being shunted into a poorly-executed squash feud against The Undertaker, he should have been an instant main event star. DDP's run may have been brief at the top, but it would have made for several big marquee matches. WWE didn't choose to take that route with the former WCW World Champion. That's a glaring error, because matches against the likes of The Rock, Undertaker and others - done properly - could have drawn some money. Sadly, Page was instead made to look like a chump, and painfully inferior to his WWF counterparts. Talk about wasted opportunity.
