10 Glorious Things That Must Happen In WWE Before 2017

1. Kevin Owens Turns Face

Kevin Owens is great, right? Everything he touches turns to gold. From his bruising wrestling style to hilarious in-ring trash talk, his every action is entertaining, and he always makes the best of whatever creative throw at him.

The Sami Zayn rivalry is over, and Owens needs something fresh. The Chris Jericho affiliation has worked well for both of them, but Owens has too much singles potential to be saddled alongside Y2J in the long run, and his futures lies atop Raw’s singles division. How does he get there? By turning face.

There’s no doubt that KO is a great heel, and he comes-off particularly abrasive in his role as Raw’s biggest bully, but he’s not exactly universally detested and despised. In fact, Owens’ arrival typically heralds just as many cheers as it does boos, and his crowd support continues to grow despite his penchant for beating-up fan favourites. The man’s organically popular, and best of all, it would only take a couple of character tweaks to make him a convincing face.

All Owens really has to do is stop pushing people around. His focus on fighting for his family already makes him incredibly relatable, and his natural wit and charm make it hard to root against him. Set him up with a more virtuous cause, and Owens can be the badass everyman anti-hero that WWE have lacked since Stone Cold Steve Austin retired.

Focus Owens’ brash persona on a Seth Rollins or Rusev, and he’d immediately be one of the most popular guys in the company. Now wouldn’t that be glorious?
